Completion Total Thyroidectomy in Occult Thyroid Cancer Patients after Partial Thyroidectomy

Thyroid cancer is one of the commonest while incidence occult thyroid only 0,05%. Completion total thyroidectomy as treatment choice for which initially diagnosed preoperatively benign mass, remains controversial. The aim this study to understand effectiveness completion after partial thyroidectomy, by analyzing from: proportion malignant contralateral tissue, post operative complications, and recurrence cancer. This retrospective collected medical record datan between 2011 2016. Total sample were 16 patients (15 females, 1 male). There was no significant difference on tissue malignancy without (p=0,375). It found 3 surgical complications (50%) from 6 with (30%) 10 thyroidectomy. temporary injury recurrent laryngeal nerve (p=0,511), seroma (p=0,375), hypoparathyroidism No event 4 years follow up amount both groups. In conclusion, there advantage in analized complication years-follow up.
